ABOUT
Yuni Hong Charpe is a Visual / Performance artist. Born in Tokyo, Japan, as a third-generation Zainichi Korean, Yuni moved to France in 2005 and acquired French nationality. Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy in 2015, they currently split their time between France and Japan. Starting from archives and personal memories, Yuni explores new narratives around the instability and multiplicity of constructed identities and the durability of memories and seeks to give them concrete form through the body, language, voice, and/or choreography. Their recent works include ENCORE – Mer (Lecture-performance, 2022), RÉPÈTE (Video-installation, 2020), etc. Asian Cultural Council Fellow (2023), Arts Commission Yokohama Fellow (2023).
ヴィジュアル／パフォーマンス・アーティスト。在日コリアン3世として東京に生まれる。2005年にフランスに移住し国籍を取得、2015年にパリ＝セルジー国立高等芸術学院を卒業。現在はフランスと日本を拠点に活動する。アーカイブや個人的な記憶から出発し、構築されたアイデンティティの不安定さと多重性、記憶の持続をめぐり、新しい語り方を探りながら、身体／言語／声／振付を通じてその具現化を試みる。最近の作品に、パフォーマンス『ENCORE – Mer』(2022)、映像インスタレーション『RÉPÈTE』(2020)など。2023年度アジアン・カルチュラル・カウンシル（ACC）、アーツコミッション・ヨコハマ（ACY）フェロー。
